Protests

Whilst in Madrid for a COST network conference this week, I saw the above march against the latest round of public health cuts in Spain. These people, apparently out in their many thousands, were mainly health care professionals.

It's always a sight to behold, watching people voicing their desire for change on political and personal levels. I've been lucky enough to witness it before; once, in Kuala Lumpur I was amazed to see absolutely thousands of people peacefully walking through the streets. Law enforcement soon appeared, and the streets were filled with tear gas. I was watching from a roof top, and my friends and I all got gassed too. Horrible stuff.
